Today I remember the Heroes. Those who ran into buildings while others were running out. Those who knew they would not survive to see their loved ones and so made one final call to say goodbye before sacrificing themselves rather than becoming part of the weapon. Those who volunteered for rescue duty for weeks on end, hoping to find life. Those who were assigned to clean up shifts only to breathe asbestos and become sick themselves. Those young ones who answered the call of duty to their country in the name of honour. And also those patriots, who in the face of anger and defiance from their neighbors called for diplomacy instead of violence. These Heroes I choose to remember today as I pray for tolerance between all religions.
